Port Blair, June 19: In connection with the observance of 03rd International Day of Yoga to be held on 21st June 2017 in the District of North & Middle Andaman, an awareness rally was organized by Dr.R.P.Hospital, Mayabunder from Dr.R.P.Hospital to St. Xavier School, Mayabunder. Dr. Amitabha De, Medical Superintendent, Dr.R.P.Hospital, Mayabunder flags off a yoga awareness rally on 19.06.2017.
The District Administration of North & Middle Andaman will organize the Mass Yoga Demonstration in 15 venues of North & Middle Andaman District as a part of celebration of “03rd International Day of Yoga” on 21st June 2017. A cleanliness campaign will also be undertaken under “Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan” on 20th June 2017 in coordination with line departments, PRIs and NGOs for participation of people from all walks of life. Each venue will have a HoD level officers as Chief Guest cum In charge assisted by Implementation Committee (Venue Supervisor/Incharge) headed by head of office level officers and an officer each from Revenue, Health & NGO. Essay and Elocution Competition for students on yoga will be undertaken on 20th June 2017. The Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman informed that the 03rd International Day of Yoga will be made memorable and rejuvenate peace and harmony among the people.
