Port Blair, Feb 19: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament was informed by the Chairperson, Tribal Council, Nancowry that from  16th Feb.2020 the power supply at Champin has been shutdown.

The Assistant Engineer, Electricity department, Kamorta has informed the Chairperson, Tribal Council, Nancowry that due to failure in starter of DG Set, supply of electricity has been shutdown.

Taking due concern on the matter, the Member of Parliament has requested the Secretary (Power), AN Administration  and the Superintending Engineer, Electricity department  to take immediate remedial measures to make the DG set in working condition since the students of CBSE are facing acute problem.

More to it, MP has also informed that as per the  Council, prior to this incident, the villagers were suffering a lot due to irregular power supply for which they have reported the matter to the higher authorities but all in vain. MP has thus requested the Secretary Power to look into the matter personally so that the problems of power supply comes to an end and before that, for the welfare of the students of CBSE, immediate action may be taken so that the students are not disturbed.
